Respect
Mission Statement - Respect:
At Scalby School we have a commitment to ‘Being The Best We Can Be’. We aim to ensure that every student regardless of gender, race, background or ability has the opportunity to succeed; both academically and socially.
Respect is an essential part of day- to-day life in our school.
As a school community we follow our core principles of respect.
Core Respect Principles:
- Respect all staff and students in our school community.
- Respect your learning environment.
- Respect your learning and the learning of others.
Our core respect principles have been developed to ensure attitudes of self-respect and aspiration to ensure staff and students maximise their potential. We believe these attributes are just as important as academic qualifications in preparing our young people to be responsible citizens, who contribute positively to our community. We have pride in our school and the partnership between students, staff, parents and the wider community.
We embody our school’s ethos and values to ensure that we uphold the fundamental British values of tolerance, mutual respect, the rule of law and freedom. We will ensure that students understand the difference between right and wrong, by focusing on self-discipline to create a culture where every student is prepared to be a responsible citizen in 21st century Britain.
